Second Room System

At present i have my proper system in the living room which has resulted in the previous system being relegated to the bedroom. Problem is that the speakers (B&W 601 s2's) are a bit on the bulky side. (it's a very small room, but even when i move i think they would be excessive)

I'm looking for suggestions as to what i could swap them for thats a similar size to my pro-ac tab ref 8 sig's, sounds similar to the Pro-ac's/B&W's, but costs about £100.

The rest of the system is Nad c542 and C320bee. Given that i hardly ever listen to music in the bedroom, but would still like the option I'm also considering selling the cd player and just using itunes via the AE (maybe a dac @ later date).

I've also thought about selling the while lot and maybe getting the audioengine a2, a5's or lars and ivan offerings but the lack of remote is a little offputting.

Any advice would be appreciated. Obviously listening is important, but i don't think i'll get a chance with the last two options mentioned.

With regards to the speakers why dont you take a look/demo at the Dali Lektor 1's.

Small speakers but deliver a great soundstage and theyll work well with the NAD separates.

You could also consider the Acoustic Energy AE100 bookshelf speakers. Youd have to get them off eBay 2nd hand but theyre superb sounding and have a fairly small footprint.

Thanks for the suggestion. i looked at the list of lower price speakers and just couldn't decide which ones i should give a go!

Funny that you should be thinking about a c542!

Yeah; small price and speaker doesnt always mean small sound if you follow me...

When i heard the Dali's a while back with Cyrus separates i was astounded at their soundstage; it was lush BUT for me; they just lacked that bass that i like!

The AE100's i have owned and had them when i had the NAD C320BEE integrated amp with an old Arcam Alpha 5 CDP and they were great also; good bass for their size as well.

Airport express plus A2s will sound good, but unless you have a Touch or iPhone to use as remote, you're a bit stuffed. A Squeezebox Classic would be a good alternative.

If you just want speakers, got to be the Q Acoustic 1010i for small form factor, Tannoy F1 if you can cope with larger.

Got a laptop! Much as i'll probably get a touch or iphone at some point, i'm more likely to be sitting in bed having coffee and breakfast and surfing on the laptop so can just control it through itunes.

I really want to get rid of as many boxes as possible but not feel short changed.
