would agree, stick with your Sony as I bought the 48J6300 as a week ago on the back of the 2015 Awards and as good as it is I do now have some reservations and wish I'd bought a flat screen instead. Don't get me wrong the picture is really good when you sit in the optimum position in your living room but what you’re not told is this is only within a 30 degree angle so if you sit outside of this then the picture does wash out slightly and the quality of the deep blacks is lost which for me is a bug bear. This won’t be an issue if you have the perfect viewing angle but then who does for more than say two people as TV’s generally get put in a corner of a living room unless you are lucky enough to have a dedicated cinema room. Furthermore there are occasional uniformity issues which again for the quality of the TV is a little annoying and I wouldn't have expected.

If you can get past these issues, though some people may not be able to do if you are after the perfect picture from all seating positions in your living room and you have the perfect viewing angle not just for yourself but others for the home cinema experience it is a very good TV.

I’ve now got to decide whether it is worth the 15% re-stock charge at my local Home Cinema Store to change the curve for a flat screen.

I've been looking at that one as well but the viewing angle was one of my reservation (as well as the size, a bit too big) in holding off. I'm now looking at the Samsung UE43JU6000 which seems to be about right, 4k, flat screen etc. but not seen any reviews yet. Anyone got any opions on that one?
