I've just got my Samsung UE46D7000 - what a brilliant piece of kit !!- plays my music from my WD Book HD and from a memory stick as well - picture is superb and the sound isn't too bad either. The internet access is magic but...

Does anyone know where I can buy the qwerty keyboard double sided remote I've seen reviewed?

Samsung aren't much help

Hi Andrew, did Samsung ever reply to you?

The Samsung 3D smart TV qwerty remote control RMC-QTD1 is offered for sale by Korean suppliers on e-bay (with English and Chinese symbols) but I cannot find an official UK source and even Samsung call centre cannot advise were to get it from.

Has anybody got any knowledge as to whether it has been released in UK yet and the best place to buy a European spec version.

Trying to browse the internet on a UE40d8000 using the standard remote is just dire

Thks.

Have you got an iThingy, and wifi in your home? The free Samsung Remote app in the Apple Appstore automagically pops up a touch 'keyboard' when you press 'OK' on a field where text input is appropriate.

I daresay the app might be available on the Android app Market as well...

Failing that, I was in Curry's the other day, and they were showing a smart remote alongside a D8000 set. It looked, perhaps not surprisingly, a bit like a Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

There's also a £200 Smart Samsung remote at Comet:-

which might be the same one I saw at Curry's.

There is a alternative to paying for the Samsung remote if you have a iPhone/iPod touch/iPad or AFAIK Android OS smart phones a Samsung remote app that operates the TV within your wifi and gives you a full QWERTY keyboard etc, and even better the app is FREE:dance:
