New for 2009 are Samsung's B850 plasmas. These are the top of line for Samsung in '09 and feature an ultra-thin, one inch deep bezel and the internet connectivity that's showing up in more and more HDTVs. Rather than posting an outrageous contrast ratio, Samsung is saying the PS50B850 will have "mega dynamic contrast" and it remains to be seen just how "mega" it really is. We were impressed with the A650 series last year and are looking forward to getting our hands on the new B850 series.

Some other feature of the PS50B850 are 1080p resolution, 24p film playback, built in ethernet (it's also wifi capable but you'll need to purchase additional hardware) and Samsung's Wide Color Enhancer Pro technology. It also features a new anti-glare screen than Samsung is calling Ultra FilterBright Plus. For the energy conscious the TV will meet the EnergyStar 3.0 specification.

for some reason there are not too many samsung plasma reviews around online , i remember starting a thread on here a few months ago asking why there was no reviews of the samsung ps50a656 plasma , there never were any apart from one us site , where the sammy was rated better than a panny th46pz85 which was quite a bit more expensive, its now been superceded by newer models , lets hope the b850 gets a few reviews ?? are you listening whfi

I've been looking around for reviews as well but no luck so far ...

Looks like a great set ... only 3 cm's thick and no red front ... hope WHF get their hands on one soon!

This is the set i really want to read about and see, currys/comet will have them in 2-weeks so will be spending some time with them, as for panas dont like the look of them, andt o be honest not that impressed.

When I purchased my Samsung PS50P96FDX which was then the top of the range Samsung 50" plaz I personally prefered it over the Panasonics of the time(both in PQ and looks as the Panasonics were dam ugly IMHO) and would have quite high hopes for the PS50B-850.

good review , but how much will it cost ? if its as good as a kuro ( big if ) or on a par with the v10 ( more likely ) id say £1600 would be about right ...
