Hi i'm looking at purchasing a samsung led tv in the next couple of months, i've been looking at the ue46b6000 model and the ue46b7000, as far as i can tell the only difference is that the 7000 series can be connected to the internet, am i missing something else or shall i save myself a some pennies and go for the 6000 series.

Mainly be using it for blu ray (sony 360)

cheers

no , you are right , thats the only difference , and its probably a feature you wont miss , if your not buying for a few months , it might be an idea to factor in the new lines of tvs on the horizon , all the makers have new models coming out soon , id wait and see whats on offer myself , unless you have to buy soon ....

Hi not in any rush, was going to wait for the new tv's to appear so these models will drop in price, seems to be exactly what i want, not bothered about internet or 3d compatability so could be on to a winner with this one

id be keeping an eye on stock , many of last years ranges are already hard to find , if you wait too long for a bargain , they might be gone ...

Hi

There is only one usb port on the 6 series and two on the 7 presumably so you can use the wireless dongle (which u have to pay extra for) and a usb media device.

I actually have the 7 series, and regretted not getting the 6 series and using the money to get a bd player that has built in wifi instead.

The difference isn't just internet connectivity. The biggest difference is in the media player capability, the 6000 doesn't support video, the 7000 does.

I got the 7000 before the 6000 was even out, so I didn't have the choice to make, but since then the TV's media player function has replaced the PS3, PC and NAS as my main device.

Anyway, with a little bit of digging you can hack the service menu of the 6000 and enable the video playback capability, so if you're confident go for it. Given that i never make use of the internet function, and knowing how to hack it, I would probably have gone for the 6000 in hindsight.

Alternatively, wait for the new releases, which'll be around in the next few months.
