samsung le40650 tweaking

I have just purchased a samsung le40650, be it 651 from dixons, straight out of the box i found the picture to be brilliant in my eyes, i did not need to do any tweaking i was a bit worried about this part of buying a new tv. i am a female senior citizen, so do you think i need my eyes retesting? as tweaking new tvs seems to be the done thing to get a good picture, i feel i should be doing something! my backlight is set at 7 is that normal? do you think i should start tweaking? tiny tots ps I have only got freeview, no hd.

If you're happy with the picture, I wouldn't worry about it too much, although most new TVs benefit from a little bit of tweaking. You could watch our How to Get the Best from Your TV video for more hints and tips on setting it up if that helps.

It's also worth reading our How To... Boost Your TV's Performance blog, in which we suggest brightness should be set at around 45 percent, contrast at 65 percent and colour to about 50 percent.

hi, Thanks andy, these calibrations and others are they done with the high def on? as i only have freeview, wont that make a difference?
