Anyone give me any tips on running in - and then setting the right settings for a Panny PZ85? Do I need to turn the contrast down for a period of time/leave the TV on etc. and for how many hours before I can consider it 'bedded in'? Once it is, how do I get the settings right to get the best picture?

As a sidenote - can't say I'm too impressed with the picture when on TV - even BBC One looks more like an LCD screen rather than a plasma (through Virgin Media cable box) - something I'm doing wrong or should know?

Many thanks

The best reason for turning down contrast is to get a better picture rather than avoid screen burn.

My advice would be to use Cinema mode with Warm colour temp. This setting is recommended by several reputable internet sites that have reviewed the PZ80/85/81.This setting will give you a picture that is as close to the D65 standard as possible without going into the service menu.

At first this setting might look a bit 'yellow' but that is because you probably have been watching an inaccurate picture in the past.Stick with it for a couple of days and you will realise how good this picture actually is.
