RS6s gone...

I'm planning to replace mine next year, how are you finding those PMC's in comparison?

Fabulous. Every aspect just hangs together that much better, as you'd might expect from a speaker originally costing twice as much. Above all else the bass is so sublime and precise, allied to the Leema's fast, punchy bass....

Can't believe I missed the historic moment.

I just noticed your sig had changed, so came looking for this thread. Congratulations.

I bet the TB2i sound stunning. Would have loved a pair myself if I had enough space, but my small apartment even has trouble with the bass from the DB1i at times.

They are truly stunning. Can't believe they've slipped past the audiophiles on here. There are/were around two people with the TB2i, but they haven't contributed for years. I'd wager a bet that the current crop haven't even considered the TBs.

Might have to upgrade mine then too as I have exactly the same combo.

How much did you pay for the new ones and how much did you get for the old ?

:)

I'm really pleased for you. I know how you felt about the RS6s. I had a real affection form mine, but I kept hold of them too long and they were dragging down my system.

Youve got such a strong line up of equipment now, they were probably the same for you.

Theyll fair air far better in a 5.1, which is what I did with mine for their last few months.

Excellent choice PP , the TB2i's are rather special aren't they , now all you need is a nice Electro ECI3 or maybe a EC15 ;)

Nah, the Leema just purrs with these gems. They're easier to drive than the DB1i IMHO.

PP stop being so touchy, we all know your system aint shabby we all just finidng the fact you have kicked your RS6's into touch funny after 6 years of marriage!

Re: the Elciit being like for like - yeah I think your right - both are black and have a Rega badge and have garish red LEDs on the front fascia - Soundwise I think you are kidding yourself - you even confessed yourself that you had a quick demo and likened it the Leeema in sound :)

PP - i'm sorry for your loss ;)

I've championed PMC many a time over the past 8 years or so - I wish more people gave them an audition.

Enjoy your new babies!

Think I know why you find cds so abysmal. You need to hear your cds on a all-Arcam set-up (A38 & CD37).

Although the Elicit-R sounded impressive, and so it should at the price and with PMC 23s rigged to it, it didn't make me go wow!... Think one of the reasons is because it sounded a tad clinical/sterile. This is also what I found with the Apollo... not as natural sounding as the Arcam CD73. I do believe, and I've mentioned this before, that Rega originally started as a turntable specialist, and although they make good other products, they may just be less flexible when it comes to different formats, against other well-known makes.

That is just a personal observation...

Not sure why you see the departing of the RS6s so funny. I know you're not a fan of MA (tizz, boom) but they are fabulous for the money, and why should I sell a component if I'm happy with it?

As it stands, Leema, Naim and PMC is a blinding combo. Wouldn't swap it for anything, unless i could get a hefty upgrade in amp (probably way beyond Electrocompaniet. Starting point Leema Tucana, perhaps)

You could be right :) I have only heard Leema amps briefly but it was enough to hear that they are very good and the TB2i's are very efficient and an easy load so I can easily imagine why you are so chuffed with your new PMC's they are seriously good .

I have heard a pair of TB2i's driven by a full Bryston rig using the 7bsst monoblocks and you would not believe what the TB's can do , I know it amazed me :O
