Robust headphones needed

I am looking for some metal framed headphones (metal framed headband, metal gimble attachment to metal speaker units). The less plastic the better, ideally with a detachable / replaceable chord.

I am on my third pair of Sony MDR- V300's which sound great but about as long lasting as the proverbial M&S prawn sandwich. I am prepared to invest more but want something physically robust.

The Grados look nice. How solid are they?

The Grados sound nice as well. Mine are 10 years old and fine, but they are only used at home. Their simplicity makes them pretty robust, with only the plastic backing around the driver being a bit vulnerable.
