RIP Flash Player for mobiles

Adobe has pulled its flash player app from Google Play. It has conceded that HTML5 is currently the best solution. Details here:

Shame. That was the only thing which nearly tempted me to buy into Android and not iOS.

Although if your phone does have flash it will see the upgrades. It will only be hidden from new/JB phones or something or other. Basically alot of phones will still have working flash.

Looks like the apple embargo on flash is killing it off. I must admit, much as I like flash, I've found it a major pain at times as an end-user, another code base to have installed on a device, with constant updates and large files to download on slow connections that rendered pages unusable until completed.

No, I think Adobe realised the limitations of Flash on a mobile browser. Apple was only vociferous in its dislike, but Adobe had a strong following in the Android community which was enough for it to remain successful.
