Given what you want the headphones for ie games and your preferred music, you don't want to get noise-cancelling. I imagine you play for hours on end, noise cancelling headphones are often heavy.

If I were you I would spend between £100 and £150 and you will love the sound you can get for that price. You really don't need to spend any more than that.

Have a look at the AIAIAI TMA-1 series of headphones, prices from just under £100 up to just under £200. Also look at the Musical Fidelity MF-100 and the Audio-Technica ATH-M50.
