Hi Gel, I have a 42V20 at the minute. Settings wise I am running normal for TV and THX for film. I have 24p Smooth Film, CATS and frame creation tunred off. Other than that I can't remember adjusting any of the other settings.

I haven't turned it on in about a month - hence the normal mode - but will look tonight and see if I adjusted anything else.

Hi Nick thanks for the reply

, that will be great thanks.

I having been reading my what hi fi review as well and they say to turn off the frame creation as well for movies but the option only appears for freeview and analogue in the menu screen.

So if the option does not appear for blu rays how do i turn it off?

Thanks

I think that's because your blu-ray discs are playing natively at 1080/24p & so you won't need the IFC feature.

Gel,

To be honest, you will never be satisfied with your tweaking - simply because you will always wonder if you are experiencing the best performance from your TV. One person will say this and another person will say something else.

Why agonise yourself over this? It will never end!

Put your heart and mind to rest by getting a professional ISF calibration done. You've got a brand spanking new TV that you've paid quite a few quids for, so don't you think this TV and you deserve this?

You want your TV to deliver the best possible performance in your own living room, so what anyone else is going to tell you is going to mean diddly squat!

Nick's house/showroom is not your house!

I agree. And then, gel, you might stop asking/tweaking/wondering

ISF is the ultimate answer but to be fair to gel and the others asking a few pointers doesnt do any harm. Adjusting the green bias etc is probably a living room specific thing but making sure certain processing is turned off/on is a good starting point.

We help all our customers along these lines with both TV and projection systems and it does make a difference.

Gel,

Learning and the acquiring of knowledge is always encouraged, not to mention also fulfilling!

If you really want to do it yourself, then please get a good calibration disc like the DVE or Spears & Munsil, and experiment fine-tuning your TV yourself with the aid of this and see what the outcome is like.
