Anyone rootedROM'd the Nexus 4 yet? I don't get mine till early Jan but as an avid tinkerer can't wait to play about. Any thoughts ? Is it even worth it or is stock factory ROM not filled with a lot of crap

Don't have a nexus 4 , but as it's a nexus device it will be stock android without any manufacturers bloatware and remember the stock nexus firmware is allways the first to be updated with new software.

We have a Nexus 7 and as both this and the Nexus 4 run the 'Vanilla' Android then both should be the same (apart from the obvious lack of phone in the 7  ).

The N7 is loaded with minimal google software and seems easy to customise. I cannot see any benefit, initially from 'Rooting' it. I may be missing something though.

Dur, just realised, "Nexus" is a tacit reference/admission to copying

As I said before if you stick with the stock firmware on your nexus device you will be first inline when Google updates its software.. But if tinker with it will take until the Rom maker updates its software which could takes months.
