Hi

I have the following equipment:

Panasonic TX-37LZD80 with 3 HDMI sockets

Sony Blu-ray BDP-S300 player with 1 HDMI socket

Sky HD with 1 HDMI socket

I currently have the Sky HD connected by HDMI (1) to TV, and Blu-ray connected by HDMI (2) to TV.

Here is my question. I now want to add a decent surround system to get the best out of HD. How would I, or can I, connect all the equipment up using HDMI? I am completely new to all this and I would appreciate any suggestions to how to do this and recommendations to a decent surround sound system.

Many thanks

Shaco

Hi I have just bought a onkyo 605 amp and connected all my components via that, the system has 2 inputs and one output(for the tv). This will enable futureproof sound and pictures to be run through one source and True HD sound also. Just need to add a decent set of speakers

Thanks, I am looking at the Onkyo TXSR-506, it has 3 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output, at £249.

What speakers do you have?

Currently using B&W M1 Speakers and MJ Acoustics sub, wanted to upgrade the sub for the B&W PV1 but comes to a lot of pound notes..!

Also I would consider the 605 as it is coming down in price by the minute because of the release of the 606, it has better decoding than the 506. have seen it from a local dealer for only £320. If you shop around you may even get it cheaper

Actually now I notice that the 506 does not carry HDMI audio, so the 605 or 606 has to be the correct solution.

Richer sounds are doing the 605 at £299 and the 606 at £399.

Thanks for the replies, it really does help when you are new to all this.
