What is the best way to connect my PS3 to my amp and how meany driffent ways can i do this?

HDMI is the only real way to go. Anything else and and you will lose HD sound, HD images or both!

ok but my amp does not have a HDMI input ports and the PS3 only has one HDMI out?

Then your best bet is HDMI straight to TV, digital audio to amp (assuming it's an AV receiver and can take a digital input).

hi, you can hook your ps3 up to your amp via the av connector for down mixed stereo and use the hdmi for picture only.

And yes, if your amp only has analogue inputs, that's the way to do it.

andrew do you mean when you say digital audio to amp coaxial/optical cables. The PS3 only got HDMI out wich i go to the TV and then it has OPTICAL out and AV MULTI out?

PS3 has digital optical, HDMI and analogue stereo (via the multi out). I have a stereo amplifier and use an optical connection from the PS3 to an external DAC. Previously I connected the PS3 directly to the amp via the multi out and it worked fine.
