PS3 blinking red light

Very often my 40GB phat ps3 is giving me a blinking light when powered on and no pictura or function is present, after a couple of restarts it is working fine, what possibly could be the problem? pls

Hi,

I suggest you just 'google' the problem, alot of the older fat PS3's have suffered from various faults with the major one being the 'yellow light of death'! I just googled this: PS3 blinking red light problem, and it returned hundreds of results with videos of the problem plus potential fixes on youtube. From what i have read on the subject it dosen't look good for you....sorry, this is why i upgraded to a slim from my old fat PS3.

thanks for great help will have how it goes, because today i used it twice and had no problem and no blinking seems it is occasional, will have to give it some more time, and them talk to sony dealer in Malta. Thanks again
