ps3 audio problems via optical output

Help, i have just bought a ps3 and hooked it up to my home cinema using my optical cable. Now it gets strange. There is dolby digital / d.t.s audio when playing dvd, 2 channel when blu ray and nothing when playing games but when using phono cables to my home cinema i get sound in all dvd, blu ray and games but obviously not digital. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Have you set everything up properly in the audio menu?

You need to set the BD/DVD sound output to bitstream.
