Guy's, I have CRT which is connected to Top Up TV and a DVD player. The kids still watch all their DVD's.

I dont have Sky or Virgin. I am in no great rush to have HD at present but will probably do so soon. Should I justt do it?

Should I get HD or HD ready with freeview? Whats the difference?

We sit over 11 foot away from where the new screen will go. We watch mainly terrestrial TV and the odd DVD. What size screen would you advise and whether Plasma or LCD.

I have spent some time looking at all the options for a new TV but am now more confuse than when I started.

Any tips or advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks

If your sitting 11 ft away you really should be looking at least 50" maybe larger, if you watch in a darkend room you should really look for plasma, if the room is light or near a window then look for lcd because they are less reflective, as for resolution you should get full HD, if you ever decide to get blu-ray or a HD camcorder, as of yet the lower specced panasonic tv's don't have freeview HD i can't speak for other makes & models or models coming out in 2011.
