Problem with my sound card

Evening all. I have been trying to play stuff on my windows media without success, and i have also now downloaded spotify. When i try and play something through spotify it just says there is a problem with my sound card. Can anyone point me in the direction of how to check out the sound card and get it working?? Im dead keen to get my onk 905 all up and running and netwroked and as per usual having issues!!!

ps: have had a play around an it suggested and update was disabled as it was causing problems. It now plays, BUT its very jittery / stuttery. Im connected via a cable and teh connection states 100mps. Any suggestions on how top iron this out?
