Problem with Arcam AVR500?

Had my Arcam for a few weeks now. Consistently when playing Bluray I get occasional popping sounds and interference on the screen - imagine an old LP with crackles, thats how it sounds. Even had the screen go completely green for a few seconds before it carries on. Just played a brand new Alice in Wonderland Bluray and a couple of minutes in the sound just went into a high pitched drone. And the pops and crackles continues on that too.

It could be my Bluray player but had now problems with that and my old Denon AV amp.

No probs with CD or TV/Sat.

Disappointed at having just forked out that sort of money! Will speak to my dealer tomorrow but wondered if anyone had had or knows of similar problems?

have you the latest firmware for the amp, i have only heard a squirly sound when switching to sky and then its only once in a blue moon and only for 2 seconds?, if all firmware is up to date than i think acall to your dealer may be your best option.

Give Stefan in Arcam technical/support a call via their main number, he might be able to narrow down the issue you're having.

Thanks David. I phoned Stefan the other day. Will aim to take the amp back to my dealer to test against other players although I will see if I can borrow one nearer home to start with. Stefan has agreed to replace the amp if the fault persists.

Tried Sherlock Holmes again last night and got a green screen in a place where it hasn't happen before. Very odd.
