I recently took delivery of a KEF T101C speaker to join my existing KEF floor-standers. I'm trying to decide where to place the centre speaker; the TV is wall mounted but there is not really enough room under it for the centre speaker due to a fireplace being there.

So I'm pretty much left which the option of putting the speaker above the TV. This would result in the speaker being mounted about 180cm from the ground. If I do this, do I need to angle the speaker down, i.e. point it down toward the sofa where I watch from to get the best performance, or will it be OK pointing straight ahead?

Thanks!

Hi,

The T-series does use a tweeter with a tangerine wave guide which should help to disperse the HF over a wider angles than a normal tweeter and therefore you may get away with it being high, but I would suggest that you may need to incline this slightly, as 1.8m is very high. Ideally I would recommend trying to put this below the TV as this will be much closer to the height of your ears when you are sat down watching the TV. Hope this helps

Steve
