I recently bought the Roksan LIII amp but my aging B&W DM300 are not doing justice to LIII's potentials specially in bass which at times bit boomy, hence now setting my eyes on these 3 contenders in second-hand market, need to know which one gel best with LIII music taste is quite varied but tight and deep bass is must, listen to mostly pop, alternative and dance/house, source is Sonos with mostly lossless and 320KB files.

I must admit I bought LIII without any audition purely based on WHFSV continuous 3 year amp of the year award/review, very happy with it cant' stop listening and digging my old music entire weekend. so big thanks to WHF.

Craig M.:my choice would be scm11, followed by db1I. i'd leave the dyn's.

ATC and PMC are quite similar, but they do have their differences--find what uou prefer.
Although, I do completely agree with the quoted post.

atc sc11s try mark at audio emotion for a good price www.audioemotion.co.uk

Thank you all for your feedback, one important factor I forgot to mention is that my listening room is very small just 3x3.5 meters and distance from speaker to listening position will be 2.75meter also I need to place the speakers very close to wall otherwise they are too close to my ears

Based. On that you should go for the ATCs as they're a sealed box.

hi mate i had the atc11's with the roksan kandy L3 in a room similar size to yours and there fantastic together! you get a lot of speaker for your money, there crackers and for me they stand up pretty well against there bigger brothers the atc40's.

Hi guys, thanks for your help just one more question, if my understanding is correct then ATC SMC11 is a sealed box meaning there is no bass firing port? does this means that there is compromise on Bass extension? I like to hear deep & thumping but well controlled bass as you can read above I like to play dance and house music, in this regard do ATC perform well for this genre compared to the rest of the speakers? are there any other options beside the ones I mentioned? my budget is fairly limited : --)

My other dilemma is I can't get a demo of Kandy L3 with these speakers as most of the hifi shops have newer kandy K2 amp, I am not sure if both of these have same sound signature, hence I completely depend on advice from you guys. Thanks once again.

atcs don't add extra bass like some, but if the cd or whatever has bass on it, the atcs will reproduce it brilliantly. chemical brothers on mine, can shake the whole house. next doors too, apparently...

Hi Zubkabera

The SCM11's will do the trick nicely as i have sold quite a few ATC speakers to owners of Roksan electronics. The SCM11's are a closed box design and more importantly are flat and honest which will help with positioning them close to walls without the bass in particular getting itself into a twist.

Thanks

I know everyone on the WHF forum loves ATCs, but I'd say they are steering you a bit wrong based on your listening prefrences. Give them a demo to see what you think, but I'd be very surprised if you were happy with them. I'd consider the PMC TB2i which is closer in size to the Dyn 52se and the ATC SCM 11. I also think think that you should listen to the Dyn 52se as it will have far more bass than the ATCs and a little more than the PMC TB2s.

seriously jax, i've had dyn's, the atcs can really hammer it out, although maybe not like yours! and i'm not convinced the L.lll is the best match for dyn's, doesn't quite grip them well enough.

the op's small room would be the clincher for me, though.
