Please help with system change to make the sound a little warmer

Hi,

i have the following system -

Ruark Sceptre speakers

Audiolab 8000A amplifier

Marantz cd-63 mkII ki signiture cd player

I have always had the impression that the system maybe a little bright.

What would be the best way to acheive a warmer sound?

Should i replace one of these items? If so with what?

I'm not lreally ooking to buy new.

I was wondering if soemthign like an Arcam alpha 9 amp or soemthing similar woudl help?

Have you tried using difference interconnects? my system was a bit bright but i switched to chord crimson plus interconnects and that solved the problem.

Before you spend any money on anything, particularly wasting money on cables, sort out your room first. Is the sound bright because you have bare walls, a wooden floor or a large window? Is the sound bright because your speakers are not in the best position in relation to each other, where you sit and the room's walls? Is the sound bright because your speakers are not sitting securely on secure stands to minimise vibrations?

I second what Simon said. Interconnects can make a difference when chosen carefully.

Is there any literature on setting up/getting the best form your hi-fi?

i would love to know what to do regarding spacing, decor etc.
