I have just purchased a Sony KDL37P3000 and now want to connect my Sony DAV-IS10, PS3 and sky+ box. I know that I need 2 HDMI cables which I need in 2 meter lengths to connect the PS3 and the IS10 to the TV. I would like to have surround sound from the PS3 and Sky+ which I know I need 2 digital optical cables but because there is only 1 digital optical in on the IS10 I also require an optical switcher. First question, what HDMI cables do I go for?? Second question, can anyone recommend good digital optical cables?? Third question, is there any difference in the quality of optical switchers, if so what is best for my money?? Fourth question. I read that you receive a better quality picture when Sky+ is connected via a scart lead to the TV, if so can anyone recommend a good quality scart lead?? I have a budget of around £150

My choices on these cables is QED all the way i.e. QED Qunex HDMI-P, QED Performance Optical and QED AV21 SQuart. I think this may be a bit over your budget though, so I'd ask, are you going to use the IS10 as a DVD player when you have the PS3? If not (and I would say probably not unless it's a multi-region player), get a cheap HDMI to hook this up to and set it up with. Secondly, does the Sky+ box have an optical out? I didn't think it did...

If it does and you need the optical splitter, my friend has this one and I couldn't notice any degradation in quality when I heard it on his system.

The IS10 is a multi region player, I could use the PS3 for all my dvd playing thus saving on one extra lead. The sky+ box does have a digital opticl port but i'm not sure if it's an in or out, I wiil check in the morning when I get home from work. Thanks for the advice I will search the internet for the best value.
