Plasma burn worries

Looking at getting a 40-42 inch TV and am siding with Plasma over LCD but I have concerns with Plasma burning from all the logos that sky channels have on the channels for long periods of time all the time. Am I worried about nothing ?

mcjwalters: Am I worried about nothing ? Yep, had a plasma since last december and not a hint of screen burn/image retention.

Perminant image retenton with plasma's was a big concern on early sets (but in saying that my 6 year old Panasonic series 5 is still fine and dandy) but with normal useage of a modern Plasma with all the new anti-burn features such as pixel-shift/orbiter etc you don't really have any thing to worry about.

I have 3 plasma sets in various rooms in my house all of which are wired uup to Sky and no issues regarding perminant screen retention(burn), the only thing you may sometimes get if say playing video games/PC for a long time is a bit of temporary image retention but this soon fades completly after a few mins of normal TV viewing.

Just another backup to the others - had a plasma for over 3 years now and I do now seem get regular image retention when playing Xbox / PS3 games for long periods but, as per DJ Krime, simply changing to a standard TV channel for a few seconds clears it (even if the TV has been switched off all night) so nothing to worry about at all.
