Pioneer VSX-LX55 Volume cutout @ -4 on vol indicator.

Hi I have recently got a Pioneer VSX-LX55 and it keeps cutting out when the volume gets to -4 on the volume - could anybody guide a non - technical person really simply through the process to remove this 'ceiling' from my unit? It is really annoying when there's a few people round and trying to raise the level of music above background and it just cuts out!! Any help would be massively appreciated. Thanks in advance

-4 is incredibly loud! I never go above -19 on mine.

What speakers are you using, and what are they set to? (small/large and crossover point)

If you look in ti settings menu the previous owner may have set a maximum volume limit.
