Ok, after extensive research I have decided to buy the Pioneer - after comparing many TVs in the shop this one seemed to have the most natural picture quality. My question is this: For SD material should I do the scaling by using the Onkyo's HQV Reon processor or should I leave it up to the Pioneer?
My final question is - The reason why I hesitated to buy the Pioneer was because it was a Plasma and was worried by burn in. 80% of what is on TV where I live is in 4:3 SD format. If I watch it natively, the Pioneer has grey bars instead of black (which is supposed to be good to prevent burn in) - can I do that without having to worry too much about burn in? I could zoom the image which is not ideal but will do so if watching it natively significantly increases the chances of burn in.
