Hi guys, nice to meet everyone.
Apologies for maybe such a newbie question.....
I have had a Pioneer N-30AE Network Streamer for around 5 years now, and have recently changed from Qobuz to Tidal due to many frustrations I had with the Qobuz app when listening out and about, but that is another story for another day.
I thought that Tidal Connect was a feature of the Pioneer streamer, but alas, it is not. So I am having to either stream Tidal through a variety of different ways:
1. UseTidal app via Chromecast built-in to the Pioneer. When I do this, I notice that on the Tidal app, a once Gold/Yellow coloured "MAX" 24bit/96Kz recording of an album downgrades itself to a Blue coloured "HIGH" icon instead, and upon clicking said icon I get 16bit/44.1Khz instead. I thought that Chromecast could stream Hi-res, so I dont know why its downgrading itself when I start to play the song?
2. Use the Pioneer app which is called "Remote App". Awful app, awful GUI, but again, playing the same album via this I am only getting 16bit/44.1Khz.
3. Use BubbleUPnP app. I really like this app, and think it is great, but again on the same album I am only getting 16bit/44.1Khz, and not the 24bit/96Khz that it should be.
Maybe a newbie question here but I dont know what I am doing wrong as I clearly am not getting Hi-res at the moment.
The Pioneer N-30AE specs state that via a wired or wireless network I can stream up to 24bit/192Khz but I dont know why I am not able to.
Could anyone shed any light for me please?
Thanks all
