I have a Pioneer AP-510 stereo amplifier with graphics equaliser, tuner, twin CD deck and twin cassette deck. As an add-on I was also running a mini DAB receiver through it.
The amplifier recently began turning itself off and on again, the speakers for my PC (5.1 system with subwoofer) which were plugged into the same extension began pulsing until the unit switched back on again.
The amplifier appears to have now died completely, though there is power downstream of the transformer and all internal (and external) fuses are fine. I have had an estimate of between £130 and £160 to repair, subject to parts availability, though I was advised it was maybe uneconomical to do so.
I am looking, so far without success, for a replacement amp. The main problem appears to be the use of ribbon cables to connect the units together.
I am having to stream the radio through my PC (Planet Rock is DAB only) which seriouly compromises my bandwidth, which is important as it is how I earn a living.
I am looking for advice of either where to obtain a replacement amplifier, a compatible amp or a replacement system.
Any advice would be welcomed.
