Does anyone have an opinion on the new Philips 9603 tvs?

I'm after a new 32" and very tempted by the Panasonic LZX85 but don't want to discount the competition but the Philips seems very elusive and I'm struggling to find one in a shop to have a look at.

Cheers

Supposedly Comet have just got them in and there's a review of the 32" one on Trusted Reviews today. I'm in the same boat, stuck on the Sony 32W4000, Pana 32LZ85, Philips 329603 or wait and see what the new Pioneer LCD's look like. Going to have a look tonight at the Philips.

Weve just tested the new Philips 37PFL9603 and the review will be published in the September issue of What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision, on sale July 24. If I speak very nicely to Mr First Tests Editor Simon Lucas, he may agree to let me post the review online in advance of the mag coming out. I'll have a word.

Yes, Cheers Andy. It would be great to get a quick review. These tvs do seem to have to have slipped into a black hole. It's quite hard to find one in real life and also there aren't many reviews/opinions online/in mags.

Cheers Livers for the heads up on the Trusted Reviews. I'm considering the philips, the Sony 32KDLW400 and the Panny 32 LZD85 but am finding it hard.

Does anyone know which is the best for SD and general motion issues (ie haloing, judder, noise etc).

Comet have all three on show in their stores (well the one I visited at least - Cribbs Causeway in Bristol). The 32W4000 is down to £699, whereas the Philips is £999 (I think), it's not showing on their website. The Pana was slightly more than the Sony but not much. Even better news is that John Lewis have just knocked £200 off the Sony so you can now get it for £699 with a 5 year guarantee so I've just this minute reserved one (out of stock suprisingly)! I've waited long enough so another week or two for the 5 year guarantee is worth it. I rang my local Sony Store and they said they couldn't match that price.

Noooo! I've made my decision and I'm not going to be tempted elsewhere. Oh, maybe just a quick look then :)
