Well, the only way I have managed to connect them is so that I can browse certain file types on the TV< but if it's not supported by the TV then it was a no go, not sure if this is what you mean by DLNA...? I haven't actually used it very much because the TV supports a limited number of file types.
What I mean is you have to go into the control panel and to sound options, manage audio devices and then set the HDMI output to the default one it's going to use, and not the speakers... One would think it would do this on its' own, but it hasn't done so for me. You may have to switch it back after your done to get sound from the laptop too, its' kind of a pain, but it does work as I regularly watch things from my laptop... I hope that helps a little, it is quite fiddely though.
