PDP428XD & Sky HD Setup

Need help Please. I have just got a PDP428XD and am new to the AV world. Can someone help me get this machine to work to its optimum level with a good setup guide. I have also got the Sky HD box connected and would also apperciate as to what the settings need to be on the HD box when connected to this excellent tv. Is the HDMI the only connection the tv needs or do we have to connect the Scart as well.

HDMI will carry all the video and sound you need to your TV, no need for a SCART lead too.

As for settings, the best general advice is to tweek the picture settings on the TV using a THX Optimiser which you will find on Star Wars DVDs among others. That will give you a good starting point. You can invest in dedicated setup DVDs too if you so wish.

Cheers. Just as you say that i looked at the HCC website and they are offering a FREE THX disc with their current mag. How about that for your luck. Another question, sorry, does the HD box have to be the same screen size seeting as the TV?

Your Plasma is a standard 16:9 ratio TV so the settings for your HD box should be TV TYPE 16:9, HDMI SWITCHING ON and set resolution to AUTO as your TV has a much better scaler than the HD box and HD channels will be in either 720P or 1080i depending on the transmission but generally 99% of HD content is in 1080i.
