Having recently bought samsung 40b550 and having it connect into pc in of tv I`m wondering is there any difference if I buy hdmi cable and connect it with pc via dvi adapter or should I go for new graphics card with hdmi output?

Cheers

Yeah i`m aware of that but since sound`s going through dac to computer speakers I`m not much bothered with sound coming through TV.

Mostly interested if any1 compared picture quality and is it worth going hdmi route.

Thanks

Don't see any reason why there should be a change in picture quality due to a switch from DVI to HDMI, but then the change of video card should have much more of an effect.

And BTW, don't you think running the sound through the DAC to computer speakers is something of a waste? The speakers will fall a long way short of revealing what the DAC can do.

Well, downsized(sold) my system due to lack of space last year and while wanted to stay in hifi decided to keep dac which i`m 90% using to listen music through headphones.

Those computer speakers sound better through dac but big improvement was adding chord superscreen main cable to it especially in bass area, and while I would agree with you that dac is overkill if used only on computer speakers it still allows me some good quality through headphones so much that is probably gonna be upgraded very soon.

As for change of video card, is there supposed to be difference in quality even tho both dvi & hdmi are digital if I`m correct?
