It has been bugging me for a while and now I finally know what is wrong when I play music through my computer.

The right channel is not as refined as the left, I have tried comparing my cd deck to the pc audio and it is distinguishable. I removed the soundcard from one pci slot to another, yet the sound was more balanced, but still not perfect. Therefore I thought it was the Creative soundcard and pci slot on the motherboard that were fried. Yet upon uninstalling the creative software and hardware, and just using on board sound I still notice the sound is better through the left speaker.

What do you think, I need advice, could it be possible for the onboard pc audio and pci slots to be damaged? Is the mobo probably at the end of its life? Has anyone else had such probs before? As stated, it seems to be only through pc audio that I have a channel imbalance.

Could you clarify the exact nature of the problem; is it a sound quality issue, e.g. the sound in one channel is slightly distorted, or just a volume issue, i.e. one channel is louder than the other?

When did you first get this problem? Was it when you purchased a new piece of equipment, such as the amplifier?

Have you been using the same analogue cable throughout?
Do you have quite a few broken strands on one channel?

Is there some odd setting in your playback software you've not noticed?

Do headphones out of PC display same imbalance?

I'm just guessing. Sounds like an odd problem.
