Hi Guys

Well I made my mind up at last and have the TH-42PX80B & DMP-BD35 up and running. Purchased from RS in Newcastle with 5 year cover. I went for the 42" in the end because it was cheaper than the 37" and I'm pleased I did as I'm getting used to the size already. The set was out of stock on the 30th Dec but I got a call on the 31st to say it was in which was great for the New Years day viewing. I also went for the all region BD35 for the extra £20.

So I big thanks to all of you for your advice and comments.

Oh! one thing that I'm unsure about is do I have to leave the set on standby or can I turn it completely off without it retuning when turned on again (my last freeview box did).

Hi,

Sounds like you may have had a faulty freeview box previously.

My TV is OK at being turned off at the socket and retains all tuned information.
