Panasonic TXP42G10: Any owners receive a sofware update last night?

A message flashed up on my G10 last night advising me that the latest software version was available. I proceeded to download. Once it had finished I immediately noticed black levels were deeper, but at the cost of detail in dark scenes. I'm not sue what the update was designed to do (or what version it is), but I'm wondering if anyone else experienced the same?

On the other hand, this could just be my perception, but to my eyes the difference was more than subtle (and not an improvement).

Are you sure you mean the txp42G10?

no software updates are announced on the site of panasonic.
And no updates were received up to now.
How did you get your's connected to the internet?
