Incidentally, we met up with Panasonic yesterday, and we'll be getting the big-brother Z1 - the TX-P54Z1 - in for review in a couple of weeks, which has some tweaks compared to the 46in model.

No, technology is all controlled by a secret government agency, who gradually roll out the technologies they discovered from aliens at the Roswell landings.
Haven't you guys seen the documentary Men in Black?!
no , the technology is controlled by men in suits ( black is not compulsary ) that sit in a boardroom , and they gradually roll out the technologies they discovered from men in overalls in the basement .
maxflinn:hopefully the release of the first mainstream batch of oleds will coincide with an improvement in the economy , and yes , we will be drip fed , but if theres money around we wont mind
Again this belief that mainstream OLED screens are not that far off - I think we're likely to see the green shoots flowering long before that becomes a reality.

hmmm , a few tweaks , 54 inches , me thinks £7250 ??? , oops , sorry clare panasonic and i are having a little tiff at the moment , im off for a long walk
IMHO mass market OLED TV's are miles away and seeing as the only model currently avalible is only 10" there is no proof that larger screens will be any good. I saw the OLED working in Harrods and to my eyes the picture was no better than the 15" LCD beside it.
