Hi Guys,
I have a problem with my TH42PZ80, although expect this could effect people with a PZ85 as well as the PZ80 due to them being effectively the same screen,
It generally occurs on scenes that are majority low brightness/contrast, and maybe a bit of normal contrast, eg. someone wearing light clothes in a dark scene. It appears that the brightness/contrast increases in steps (almost as if I were changing it on the remote control) to adjust the picture. Once you start noticing it you see it happenning all the time.
I have noticed this on DVD's + Blu Ray's playing back through a PS3, which is outputting to HDMI to a Onkyo SR605, and also on Sky+ which is directly attached to the TH42PZ80 through Scart, so I do not feel that the amp or method of connectivity is an issue.
I do not have any component inputs to test.
I had the set replaced and have had the new set for 2 days now, and can see the same thing happenning. With regard to software version it is 1002, around 10 hours viewing time, and I do not have an aerial plugged in (as use Sky) so can not get software updates (if they were even available) through that methodology.
Does anyone else have a similar fault? If so what software version are you on and what kind of connectivity do you have?
Help is much appreciated, as the set is great apart from this fault!
Cheers
Chris
