Are people who have purchased the TH-42PZ81B happy with the television. I am thinking of purchasing it and it is now down to £959 from John Lewis, I would like the high def also the freeview picture is not very good in my area even after spending out on a new aerial system and booster.

Are there any issues with the set?

we have had ours for five months now and were delighted! Plus, getting it for under a grand its a brilliant price!

Go for it-you wont be dissapointed!

I think its a great TV and you can't go wrong. I'll probably get one myself after having compared some sony lcd's with the panasonic plasma range. With a SD signal its head and shoulders above what the higher end sony's (or philips etc.) can muster. Smoother and more natural colours. The latest LCD's look good with HD but so do Panasonic and pioneer plasmas and they dont suffer from that artifical lcd 'edge enhancement' (as opposed to a naturally sharp picture). The only LCD I was actually impressed with was Samsungs 656. Stunning black levels, 100hz but crapp & cheap build quality.

Its a bit like a good hifi. What initially appears impressive in the shop can soon become wearing. The Panasonics just quietly get on with doing everything well. Better in the long run.
