Panasonic PX-80 Vs PZ-80

Hi all just a quick one if i may, is the pz-80 alot better in PQ terms than the PX-80 not fussed about 1080 really but wanted to get an idea as the PX-80 can be had pretty cheap, so just wondering if it was worth paying the extra for the PZ-80, both have had 5star reviews, just wanted some opinions really, i have seen both in action but could not really see a great difference if i am honest, but then it was in comets, and playing animation like they always do, thanks in advance.

Picture quality is a bit of a step up. I went viewing the panny's today and saw the PX80'S and all the PZ80's. If you're on a budget, get the PX80,

Hi,

If you can, get a hold of the remotes and have a fiddle with them to ensure both pictures are set as similar as possible. Ask to see both SD and HD running on the screens.

If you can't see any difference then there would be no point in getting the PZ80 as you can't see the difference that makes the set different.

What's your viewing distance? Unless you sit up right close you wont see any difference between 1080/720, and the PX has a better SD picture.

The PX will be a better bet if you watch alot of SD as the picture doesn't have to be scaled as much for the lower res screen. The PZ won't be as good with SD but will really shine with HD.

You need to view both tv's at your intended viewing distance with both SD and HD content and see what you prefer. Whatever looks the best is the one for you, regardless of the spec sheet. Make sure they have been properly calibrated as the factory settings on my tv where miles off. A quick tweak with the THX setup made a huge difference to the picture quality.

I have the 42PZ85 and think it's a great tv, SD is impressive for a full HD tv although the PX has a sharper picture on SD. Blu-Rays or upscaled dvd's through a PS3 look stunning. My viewing distance is aprox 10-12ft and I can deffinately notice the difference between 720p and 1080p. The 1080p is alot sharper with more detail.
