I am torn between the 2 players above. I can get the panasonic for £200 although I have a voucher for £150 so will only be paying £50 out of pocket or I could keep the sony s760 I have just bought for £100. I really like the build quality on the sony and think the BR playback is excellent. I have not used the panasonic myself but used to own a dmp-bd35 which I was very happy with apart from the slow loading times.

Also I am not sure if the 2 hdmi sockets on the panasonic will cause any issues with my denon 2310. I have not yet got a 3D tv and cant see myself doing so for at least another few years but I have a feeling as time goes on less and less players will offer the twin HDMI ports due to people upgrading their receivers. My other option is 2 keep the sony and spend my £150 voucher on something else like a WDTV media player.

Any suggestions?

Does anyone know what the blu-ray quality of the panasonic will be like when comparing it to a normal blu-ray player?

Hi

I have the panasonic bdt-300 and personally i think it is an excellent player, extremely good image production. The only downside it is a bit slow to load up films but after a few firmware updates it appears to be a bit quicker but i may be wrong. I can't comment on the other choice but i am extremely happy with mine. The sound this player produces is excellent and seems to have a bit oomph to it and i only have an older 5.1 home cinema system. For 3D this is an excellent player too and works extremely well together with my pan 3d plasma screen. The one advantage of the panasonic bdt300 is that it can work on older home cinema systems as it has 2 hdmi inputs, one for video and the other sound.

Thanks for your reply, I have actually picked it up today on my way home but havent opened the box yet as once I do I wont be able to return it. So now I have both players in my possesion I just have to work out which one to keep. I have read that the panasonic comes with a wireless adaptor, do you know if it is able to stream divx over wireless?

Hi

To be honest it is not something i have tried so i don't really know, but all i know is that bdt300 was the best for me and definitely works well with my 3D pana vt20 tv. What Tv do you have and is it 3D ?

If you're happy with the Sony and don't need extra features right now I'd stick with it at the moment.

The Panasonic will inevitably reduce in price, and I think dual HDMIs won't be abandoned just yet. Samsung are introducing new players with dual outputs.
