I have this week purchased a Panasonic DMP-BD35 Blu Ray player.

Picture quality is excellent however when I set the unit to use the 24 Frames Per second setting 24P I am getting a noticable effect which i can only describe as if the backlight of the LCD tv is 'strobing' from top to bottom in 'waves'. This is fairly subtle and more noticable on lbright/light scenes. It is almost like the picture isn't synchronising with the TV properly, though I use a Samsung 46" LCD Model F86 which is an excellent screen and does support the 24P feature. I also use a top of the range 'Chord Company' HDMI cable so I am sure this isn't the issue?

When i switch of 24P the effect disappears?

Can anyone advise me where I may be going wrong if there is something I am missing as this is detracting from what otherwise would be an excellent machine which I have purchased following the advise of this publication.

Regards,

Richard Howard.

Are you sure it supports 24 FPS? The Samsung website says it offers support for full HD 1080P mode without explicitly stating support for 24 frames per second. 1080p support is not the same thing as 24 FPS.

Thanks for the message.

I am positive this model supports this feature.
