Panasonic DMP-BD30

I am looking to by a Blu-ray player to go with my new Panny 37LZD80. The DMP-BD30 gets good reviews in the May edition of What Hi-fi magazine and seems to be the one to go for .I am totally new to current technology and need to know what this player can do. I currently play dvd's using an old Xbox. Will this player improve the picture quality on old dvd's? I have read about DVD players that "upscale". Does this mean they turn a DVD content into HD quality? If so does the Panny Blu-ray do this?? Thanks

In one word yes...go for it mate if you plan to buy bluray discs to but if you dont then you may as well get a cheaper upscale machine? a lot of them now upscale to 1080p....I know what I would do though & am gonna do later this year & thats get a pana bd30 or bd50

dont expect the upscaled quality of the DVD to match the natural 1080p from the blu-ray but there will be improvement ^_^
