Hello

I have a Pana 42THPZ85, and noticed that when i turn on the overscan setting on SD TV material it makes the screen fit, but leaves some of the picture out, though if i turn it off I can see the whole box of the picture. I notice this yesterday when watching Beetlejuice on TCM, and Dexter on ITV. Though Beetlejuice showed this more.Anyone else noticed this?

Yes, this is correct. Overscan should be on when watching SD sources to avoid seeing the 'noise' that is generally found around the edge of the picture. However when watching a 1080 source, turning overscan off can give a sharper picture.

The difference on your CRT is that overscan would always be on, so you never had the option to switch it off and see the full picture.
