Our favourite products of the year

In terms of interesting products in 2014 ...I would like to nominate the Olive One, Avantgarde Acoustic Zero 1, Devialet Phantom and 120 etc., Pathos Classic Remix HiDAC. Semi interesting ones ... the Cyrus Lyric, Quad Vena, Musical Fidelity Merlin, Sony HAP-S1, Teac AI-101DA

Might be getting a pair of the Bose quiet comfort 25 too!

Oh, can you actually buy them now?

I didn't buy or listen to anything this year (even missed the Bristol Show), so I have nothing further to add.

The Devialet 200, especially with a pair of SAMable speakers, is a stunning success. I still cannot believe that this small, shiny, pizza box can produce a sound that is very musical, huge in scale, massively detailed and never harsh or tiring, regardless of musical genre, even at high volume.

The Pizza box also contains a high quality streamer, a very high quality Phono section for vinyl and world-class DAC, which work seamlessly together.

It's also upgradeable, beautifully built and meticulously designed.

A game-changing device.

Bear in mind it's around ear, not on ear that you prefer.
Yep, I seem to keep changing my mind! I found the Bose Quiet Comfort 3 for £220 at Bicester Village Bose shop but have now decided I don't like the idea of charging them and would prefer battery's.

I am also thinking it makes some sense getting the Bose QC15 than the QC25 because they are a lot cheaper. I was waiting for the deals and then to decide, or wait for something new to come out.

The fiber optic connection to the WWW and TV/radio in my house. And my new gear for music and movies. All in all, a great year with Samsung, TEAC and B&W.

Sennheiser HD700's.

Super comfy, easy to drive and sound fantastic. They're quite a bargain now the prices have dropped too.

AVI DM5's.

Amazing value for money. Sound quality to match the best I've heard but at a fraction of the cost.

The Bose QuietComfort 20i in-Ear phones are great too and shouldn't be overlooked. I fly a lot on business and these things are indispensible on long haul. Being in-Ear they allow me to sleep whilst wearing them - even if I'm lying on my side. I just switch the music off, leave the noise-cancelling on, and all the aircraft noise (and most of the screaming baby noises) goes away. - Magical bliss!

Ah, cheers! Nice one.
