For PQ "No country for old men" and "3.10 to yuma". PQ and SQ "Quantum of Solace" although some people have trouble getting into this film.

If you like a good documentary "Planet Earth" takes some beating for PQ. IMO

Messiah:I would add 'The Dark Knight' and the 'Band of Brothers' box set.

Agree 100% with messiah but would also add planet earth box set as well

One I watched recently that surprised me (especially sound) was hellboy 2

Ones that haven't been mentioned, for sound (and pretty damn good picture) the Kill Bill films, whilst for purely great cinema experience, 2001.

Also, although already mentioned, I'll put the Spiderman Trilogy as worth picking up as it's a great set of demo discs (as well as just enjoyable popcorn cinema) and can generally be found pretty cheap.

None of them are dodgy. Or for children.

Didn't know The Shining was on BR now. And American Werewolf in London is coming soon.

I'd certainly reccommend The Dark Knight.

Question the film? Not me! Nobody I know either. Awesome film, in my top 5 fave movies and one of the few I had on DVD which I replaced with BD almost immediately upon getting my player.

The sound is great, my TV does struggle with the scenes of intense fog, but it's an old 720P without 24 FPS and only 50hz too. Newer tellies (I hope) will fair better.

Awesome sound track even on DVD.

I am legend. For the opening scene. The metallic red paint of the Mustang as it drives through the empty streets looks so vibrant and, well, real.

STP PRESS: I half-watched a blu-ray last night that I would describe as the most awesome picture quality I have ever seen. There is no real dialog in the film. Just lots of incredible images. Its called Baraka. Took my breath away.

Its not a film you can watch and say wow, that was a great film, but the picture and images will blow you away.

You seem to like any film Smuggs!

I would add to others' lists, Pans Labyrinth, Big Fish, Hairspray, Before The Devil Knows Your're Dead, Sling Blade, Oldboy, The Corpse Bride, The Zodiac.

Best for picture and/or sound is still awarded to Spiderman 3, Ratatouille, Bolt and Band of Brothers.
