The usual procedure is to remove the aerial lead and scan for channels (obviously it won't find anything). Then, when the scan has completed, power off the TV. Not 'standby' but power off at the mains.

Wait for a minute or two, re-connect the aerial lead and then power up and scan again.

Hopefully the TV will now find all the channels.
