Onkyo 609: Firmware update?

I've had my Onkyo 609 for 4 months now and it has been performing fine, no issues at all.

It has a firmware version from around last May, so is it good practice to update the firmware every so often even though I have no issues?

I guess I'm always a little nervous about something going wrong during an upgrade and then regretting it.

no right or wrong

if it aint broke dont fix it.

i would look at the release notes and see if there is anything that takes your fancy.

I update via USB it is 1 billion times (at least) quicker than the online update option
