Personally I use 2 x SunFire SDS10230 units and I find they perform much better than a single unit.
I don't think the very low bass frequencies are as critical as, say the mid bass, mid & high.
But I guess the best way is to try it and find out what works for you . . . .

6x5m with vaulted ceiling. Current sub is a bit weekly esp for SFX and most movie soundtracks.....

Hard to try things at the mo so extracting the wisdom of the internet.....

Two subs will work better than one, but two won’t be in the same quality as a single, better subwoofer at the same price point. This is particularly true at the budget end of the market, but the higher you go, the smaller those differences will become - so overall, it depends where your budget is sitting.

If you have the option of buying a second sub later on, I’d go for a better single sub first.

I've just signed up on here to as the very same question! My current setup is B&W DM601 s3 for fronts, B&W HTM 62 for centre with a Sony STR-DN1080 amp. I'm trying to work out what be the best solution for subs.

Budget be 800 ish max, which would give me 2 of the B&W ASW608's. Im open to any other suggestions if people got them.

The system is used for music just as much as films and my music is everything from the Jimmy Hendrix, The Who, Kassabian, Dance and House, Pussycat Dolls (the other half!). Film wise pritty much everything and anything goes.

My living room ish pritty much 15ft square.

All suggestions welcome
