Old Amplifier. Technics su-vx820 Mosclass AA Advice Please

HI

I wonder if anyone can give me advice. I am currently looking at upgrading this Technics AMP with a Marantz PM6004, would this be a better AMP to what I currently have?

At the moment my Technics AMP is paired with a Cambridge Audio Azur 640c CD Player and I have a pair of Wharfedale 9.1 speakers. Would this Marantz AMP make difference?

Unless it has a fault I would keep it. Those old Technics amps have a good reputation. Perhaps a friendly dealer might lend you one to try.

I'd keep the Technics personally.

What sort of improvement are you looking to make?

Keep your eyes out for a Technics SU-A900 Mark Two. About the last Technics made before the brand disappeared, and a WHF five star performer in its day.
